Finding Peace in Our World

Jesus said, "I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again..." ~John 14:27-28

Jesus also said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to God except through me." (John 14:6) and that "the penalty of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ" (Romans 6:23). "There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them." (Acts 4:12). When we accept this gift for ourselves and trust totally in Jesus' life and death as full payment for everything we do wrong, everything that displeases God, then we are his children forever and have no fear of punishment. "So now there is NO condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1).

This is the peace Jesus gives us - peace of eternal security, peace of spending eternity in heaven because he gave his life for us and took the punishment for our sins on himself.
